Open to all | From August 7 to 15, 2026 | Sanboji Zen Monastery | Berceto (PR).
The Buddha Summer Camp 2026 , promoted by Il Cerchio – Monasteries and Zen Centers, is a residential experience that combines Zen meditation, community life and engagement with contemporary thought.
In a time marked by profound changes and growing complexity, practice becomes a concrete tool for developing presence, clarity, and the ability to orient oneself.
This edition's theme— Buddha under the Moon. Illuminate Your Path —recalls an indirect yet essential light: it doesn't illuminate everything, but it allows us to proceed with awareness, step by step.
What is Buddha Summer Camp?
The Buddha Summer Camp is designed as a practice space where you can experience a different way of inhabiting time, relationships, and practice.
The days intertwine three fundamental dimensions:
Meditation and Zen practice (zazen)
Community life and daily sharing
Meetings and conversations with guests
It's not just about participating in activities, but about living a concrete experience, in which practice and everyday life are integrated.
Buddha Summer Camp 2026 Meetings and Guests
A central part of the Summer Camp is dedicated to meetings with guests from various fields: spirituality, science, philosophy, and contemporary culture.
The meetings are moments of dialogue and in-depth discussion, open to discussion.

A typical day at Buddha Summer Camp 2026
Each day is structured to promote a balance between activity and introspection:
Morning meditation, followed by breakfast.
Morning workshops, including Tai Chi, Yoga or activities dedicated to the care of the monastery.
Afternoon lectures (15pm – 30pm) with special guests.
After the tea break: creative workshops or meditative practices.
The evening ends with a convivial dinner followed by shows or moments of shared relaxation.
Zen Shiatsu Treatments During our Zen hospitality retreats, in addition to meditative practice and monastic life, we are happy to offer you a unique opportunity for well-being: the Zen Shiatsu treatment. This ancient Eastern practice, deeply rooted in Zen philosophy, helps rebalance vital energy, promoting deep relaxation and a renewed sense of inner harmony. Book it by writing to the secretariat!

Self Consciousness. Participants will experience the importance of being present in the moment and cultivating Self-awareness. Through meditations and energy practices, such as Tai-Ji and Yoga, we will develop a profound knowledge of our thoughts, emotions and perceptions.
Embracing Imperfection. In the ancient practice of kintsugi, which involves the repair of ceramic objects with gold dust, beauty arises from a fragility, which becomes a point of strength and perfection. The teachings and collective activities will reflect on the full acceptance of imperfection as an integral part of our existence and on the acceptance of the transitory nature of life.
Nature and EnvironmentWe will experience the connection between Zen and the natural world. You will participate in outdoor activities such as Tai Chi, yoga, and walking meditations, to develop a deeper understanding of the beauty of the environment and our role in preserving it.
Community. Buddha Summer Camp is designed to create a temporary horizontal community where everyone feels accepted. For this reason, all meetings will have a collective feel: Koan Life, collaborative activities, moments of sharing. These activities will help develop empathy, compassion and understanding towards yourself and others.
