For more than 20 years the Associazione Il Cerchio Onlus: Institute for the Diffusion of Zen Buddhism, has been promoting the development of social consciousness of freedom and brotherhood by means of:

- numerous initiatives in schools to encourage the development in students of a new  consciousness;
- commitment to offering help in prisons;
- help and support towards a re-educative structure for young people;
- commitment to peace and dialogue through the Forum for Religions;
- the promotion of a culture of freedom and brotherhood through conferences and courses in various parts of Italy;
- supporting Sanbo-Ji, Temple of the Three Jewels, a place of peace and serenity open to all.

L’Associazione Il Cerchio Onlus, through the activities of the Zen monasteries Il Cerchio (The Circle) Enso-Ji in Milan and Sanbo-Ji, Temple of the Three Jewels in Parma, is officially listed among those organisations to which citizens are entitled to commit 0.5 per cent of the IRPEF tax payable on their incomes (according to financial provision no. 266 dated 23/12/2005 and the subsequent decree D.P.C.M. of 20 January 2006).
